Weald of Kent Grammar School is a large selective girls’ school in Tonbridge where multiple buildings span over a large school campus.
MNE were appointed to undertake the RIBA Stage 4 boiler room design via Condition Improvement Funding (CIF) to replace the dated and failing equipment with modern and efficient heating plant, complete with a plate heat exchanger arrangement to hydraulically separate the existing heating distribution pipework serving large sections of the school.
MNE were then instructed by the school under a separate cover to manage the comfort cooling upgrade works within the Art & Drama block. The works consisted of producing a Scope of Works document and managing the tendering process to appoint a suitable contractor.
