Bu'Sen Martial Arts

 A BREEAM Excellent martial arts centre was delivered in Twickenham on the site of a former territorial army reserve centre. Bu’Sen is a thriving club previously located in a building that was earmarked for redevelopment, therefore the club needed to find a new home. The new site, leased from the local Council, provides the club with two new dojos, changing spaces, communal viewing hub and gymnasium. 

The building achieved BREEAM Excellent through a variety of measures including:

• A commercial air source heat pump providing the heating and hot water. 
• Natural ventilation windcatchers to the martial arts hall
• Mechanical ventilation to other areas of the building. 

MNE provided full MEP design from RIBA stage 3 to 5, including SBEM. The project completed in late 2022 and became Europe’s largest custom built dojo.
