Located near London Victoria railway station and adjacent Buckingham Palace Road and Belgravia Place, this 1980’s commercial building has seven storeys and mainly consists of offices on the upper levels. The ground floor has undergone renovation and provides a remodelled reception for the office spaces and food and beverage retail outlets.
We were initially appointed to undertake survey works to review the MEP services within the current building, then review the feasibility of the installation of low carbon alternative solutions to replace the existing gas fired boiler system. We produced detailed RIBA Stage 2 design solutions to inform the client and the wider design team as to our design philosophy for the services element of the project, with the carbon offset strategy in mind. We then undertook the RIBA Stage 3 & 4 design for second floor office refurbishment using heat pump technology.
The work was undertaken whilst office tenants were in occupation, and with the central boiler and chiller plant remaining operational to serve the other floors, and therefore required careful planning.
